WOCV-CD
WOCV-CD (channel 35) is a low-power, Class A television station in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, airing programming from the digital multicast network Catchy Comedy (formerly known as Decades). The station is owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting, and maintains a transmitter in Parma, Ohio. WOCV-CD has some cable carriage, most notably on Charter Spectrum—channel 15 in Cleveland and channel 13 in Akron. History Media-Com era W29AI channel 29 was originally licensed on July 14, 1987, and did not sign on until 1990. It became WAOH-LP on August 21, 1995, and WAOH-CD on December 30, 2014. A translator of WAOH, W35AX channel 35, was licensed on November 30, 1989, and signed on in 1996. Both stations were owned and operated by Media-Com, a local radio broadcaster which also owns WNIR 100.1 FM, and owned WJMP AM 1520 in the Kent/Akron area. Story Television is an American digital broadcast television network owned by Weigel Broadcasting that airs programming which is related to history, normally older programs which are licensed from other networks. The formation of the network was announced on February 14, 2022. Weigel president Neal Sabin stated: “As we looked at the landscape, we looked at what genre works really well for advertisers and viewership that isn’t currently on the air right now." The genre which was chosen would be history-oriented programming. The name "Story" directly came from "history", the word that will play in the shows' taglines. The network was launched on March 28, 2022 on stations owned by Weigel, Hearst Television, Maranatha Broadcasting Company, Marquee Broadcasting and others, along with national cable distribution through providers such as Spectrum where no affiliate exists. Network One was a small "independent" network, consisting of mostly low-powered television stations, scattered across the Continental United States, similar to Urban America Television, America One, or the better-known Ion (formerly PAX). The network officially launched on December 1, 1993, around the same time as Channel America and the American Independent Network, but shut down on November 13, 1997. WOIO (channel 19) is a television station licensed to Shaker Heights, Ohio, United States, serving the Cleveland area as an affiliate of CBS. It is owned by Gray Media alongside The CW, CW affiliate WUAB (channel 43), Telemundo affiliate WTCL-LD (channel 6) and independent station WOHZ-CD (channel 22); WTCL and WOHZ also serve as relays for WOIO. WJMP was a commercial daytime-only radio station licensed to Kent, Ohio, which operated on and served the Akron metro area. Owned by Media-Com, Inc. for much of its existence, the station broadcast from 1965 to 2016 as the AM adjunct to WNIR, which gradually assumed WKNT's more popular programs. WNIR (100.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Kent, Ohio, carrying a talk format known as "WNIR 100 FM". A multiplex or mux, also known as a bouquet, is a grouping of program services as interleaved data packets for broadcast over a network or modulated multiplexed medium, particularly terrestrial broadcasting.
