WNHO-LD (channel 44) is a low-power independent television station in Defiance, Ohio, United States. Owned by American Christian Television Services, it is sister to Lima-licensed religious/secular independent station WLMA (channel 44). The two stations share studios near Elida, northwest of Lima; WNHO-LD's transmitter is located in Sherwood, Ohio. WNHO-LD's broadcast area includes most of Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding and Williams counties. Until 2018, the station was operated by iHeartMedia's WDFM radio at 98.1 FM. Its schedule consisted primarily of syndicated programming with a variety of topics including gardening, motorsports, agriculture, home improvement, and personal health. WDFM (98.1 MHz) is an FM radio station located in Defiance, Ohio. The station is owned and operated by iHeartMedia, Inc., which purchased it from Lankenau-Small Media in 1999. It has a broadcast tower in Sherwood, Ohio. WDFM formerly operated an on-channel booster station in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but did not rebuild it after a winter storm toppled the booster station's tower. The main WDFM signal reaches much of Fort Wayne, but the station does not target that region. During certain conditions, the station can be received in the metro Detroit area. Owned by American Christian Television Services, the station maintains studios and transmitter facilities on Baty Road northwest of the city. WTLW-LD (UHF channel 17, also mapped to virtual channel 44) in Lima operates as a translator of WLMA. The station's owner should not be confused with the American Christian Television System, a defunct television network, or Associated Christian Television System, which owns WACX in Orlando, Florida. Defiance, Ohio
Defiance is a city in and the county seat of Defiance County, Ohio, United States, about southwest of Toledo and northeast of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in Ohio's northwestern corner. The population was 16,494 at the 2010 census. History The city contains the site of Fort Defiance, built by General "Mad" Anthony Wayne in August 1794, during the Northwest Indian War at the confluence of the Auglaize and Maumee rivers. General Wayne surveyed the land and declared to General Scott, "I defy the English, Indians, and all the devils of hell to take it." Using the fort as a base of operations, Wayne ordered his troops to destroy Native American crops and villages within a radius of around the fort. Fulton County, Ohio
Fulton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio west of Toledo. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,713. Its county seat is Wauseon. The county was created in 1850 with land from Henry, Lucas, and Williams counties and is named for Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat. Fulton County is a part of the Toledo/ Lucas County statistical area. History The first seat of justice in Fulton County was Ottokee, located there because of its central location in the county.
