WNDH (103.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to Napoleon, Ohio, United States, the station is currently owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. History WNDH began broadcasting in 1972 and originally featured a beautiful music format, which has been updated over the years to an adult contemporary sound. In 1989, Clear Channel Communications (now iHeartMedia) bought the station. The new owners tweaked the station's branding to ''103.1 FM WNDH the One''. The station switched to Clear Channel's Classic Hits format in early September 2014, with the former AC format moving to sister station 98.1 WDFM. The station's coverage area in Northwest Ohio includes the cities of Defiance, Bryan, and Wauseon, in addition to Napoleon. Napoleon is a city in and the county seat of Henry County, Ohio, United States, along the Maumee River southwest of Toledo. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 8,862. WZOM (105.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Defiance, Ohio, United States, the station is currently owned by iHeartMedia. In February 2002, the station changed from an Oldies format to the current country music format. History WZOM signed on the air on August 25, 1989. Its first official programming was a high school football game between Defiance High School and Napoleon High School. The game featured the return of local sports announcer Marv Sebring. Sebring was known for a colorful call of local sports and he had an amazing memory for local sports history. For the next two days the station ran a tape loop of three oldies, three country and three random songs asking residents to vote for their favorite format. WDFM (98.1 MHz) is an FM radio station located in Defiance, Ohio. The station is owned and operated as of March 2024 by iHeartMedia, Inc., which purchased it from Lankenau-Small Media in 1999. It has a broadcast tower in Sherwood, Ohio. WDFM formerly operated an on-channel booster station in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but did not rebuild it after a winter storm toppled the booster station's tower. The main WDFM signal reaches much of Fort Wayne, but the station does not target that region. During certain conditions, the station can be received in the metro Detroit area. Northwest Ohio, or Northwestern Ohio, consists of multiple counties in the northwestern corner of the US state of Ohio. This area borders Lake Erie, Southeast Michigan, and northeastern Indiana. Wauseon
Wauseon ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Fulton County, Ohio, approximately 31 mi (51 km) west of Toledo. The population was 7,568 at the time of the 2020 census. History Wauseon was platted 1853 when the Michigan Southern Air Railway was extended to that point. Land speculators bought 160 acres of land, which would become the City of Wauseon. The original name for the city was "Litchfield" after Litchfield, New York, where many of the city's new settlers had emigrated from. However, Hortensia Hayes, the daughter of an early settler, suggested that the new village be named after an Ottawa Tribe Chief named Wauseon, who was forced by the federal government to forfeit their land, before moving to Oklahoma in 1839.
