Michael King (Project 21)
Michael King (born December 18, 1962 in Gary, Indiana) is an American commentator, columnist and Murrow Award-winning & Emmy Award-winning television producer. He attended both Purdue University and Howard University. King was a 1980 graduate of Gary's Roosevelt High School. He is the son of 1955 Roosevelt graduate Howard and Gloria King. He began his broadcast career at WLTH radio in Gary in 1979. In the early 1980s, he was staff announcer for public television station WCAE and radio station WWJY, both in northwest Indiana. While in college, King reported for the ''Purdue Exponent''. During the mid-80s, his collegiate career took him to Washington, DC, where he interned at rock & roll radio station WAVA. Steve King (radio)
Steve King (born July 26, 1943) is a broadcast personality who has been heard on several different stations, mostly in the Chicago area. For more than 25 years, King and his wife, Johnnie Putman, hosted ''The Steve and Johnnie Show'' overnights on WGN. After ten years on the road and in recording studios as a rock singer/guitarist, King's broadcast career started in 1966 at WJOB in Hammond, Indiana. After a stint at WLTH in nearby Gary, King spent two years in Indianapolis at WIBC and WNAP-FM, his only foray outside the Chicago market. He returned to the Windy City to work afternoon drive time at WBBM-FM, then moved to WLS in 1973, where he spent five years working the late evening slot. He left that job for the new format of talk radio at WIND-AM in 1978, where he stayed until 1984 (with a brief detour to WDAI). It was at WIND that he met Putman, a fellow show host. Felicia Middlebrooks (born May 29, 1957) is an American radio news broadcaster. She was the morning-drive news anchor of WBBM Newsradio in Chicago, Illinois, along with Pat Cassidy. Their morning show was rated No. 1 in the morning daypart in Chicago. Middlebrooks has announced she is leaving WBBM effective May 29, 2020 to work at her own company, Saltshaker Productions. Biography Felicia Middlebrooks was born in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from West Side High School and Purdue University Calumet earning a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications in 1982 and an MBA in 2014, where she also takes on the role as a professor for broadcast news. Gary is a city in Lake County, Indiana, United States. The city has been historically dominated by major industrial activity and is home to U.S. Steel's Gary Works, the largest steel mill complex in North America. Valparaiso ( ), colloquially Valpo, is a city and the county seat of Porter County, Indiana, United States. The population was 34,151 at the 2020 census. WTLC (1310 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is owned by Urban One and broadcasts an urban gospel radio format, with some Christian talk and teaching shows heard middays and afternoons. The studios and offices are downtown at the corner of Meridian and St. Joseph Streets. By day, WTLC transmits 5,000 watts, non-directional. To avoid interference to other stations on 1310 AM frequency, it reduces power at night to 1,000 watts and switches to a directional antenna with a three-tower array that focuses the broadcast signal more to the north-northeast, west-northwest, and east-southeast. The transmitter is on the south side of Indianapolis between Troy and Sumner Avenues near the same block as television station WTTV's former studios.
