WLTG (1430 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish Christian format. Licensed to Upper Grand Lagoon, Florida, United States, the station serves the Panama City area. WLTG has the distinction of being one of the radio stations with the lowest daytime power of any licensed AM station in the USA. It is one of few radio stations with a daytime power less than 250 watts. The station is currently owned by Laurie Broadcasting, Inc. History The station went on the air as WPCF on December 11, 1949, as an affiliate of the ABC Radio Network. The callsign originally stood for "Panama City, Florida". The signal shifted from 1400 to 1430 kHz in 1958; the change enabled a power increase from 250 to 5,000 watts. WFRF (1070 AM, "Radio Fe") is an American radio station licensed to serve Tallahassee, Florida, United States. The station, established as WANM in 1974, is currently owned and operated by Faith Radio Network, Inc. WFRF is licensed as a "daytimer", authorized to broadcast only from sunrise to sunset, to protect the signal of clear-channel station KNX in Los Angeles and adjacent WAPI in Birmingham. Programming WFRF broadcasts a Spanish-language Christian format to the greater Tallahassee, Florida, area. WFRF AM programming now consists of Christian music and teaching in Spanish. WPCF (1290 AM) is a Christian radio station licensed to Panama City Beach, Florida, USA. The station is owned by Faith Radio Network, Inc. As a dance station, WPCF played talk-free Mainstream Dance Music each day, and then wide spectrum of EDM (electronic dance music). During the weekends the station also aired≈ a number of syndicated shows including "Future Sound of Egypt with Aly & Fila", "UMF Radio", "Kryteria Radio with Kryder", "The Remix Top 30 with Hollywood Hamilton", Drumcode Radio with Adam Beyer, and a number of weekly guest mixes. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. Panama City is a city in and the county seat of Bay County, Florida, United States. Located along U.S. Highway 98 (US 98), it is the largest city between Tallahassee and Pensacola. It is the more populated city of the Panama City–Lynn Haven, Florida metropolitan statistical area. WKSD (99.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a locally produced Classic Hits format. Licensed to Paulding, Ohio, United States, the station is currently owned by First Family Broadcasting and features news programming from ABC Radio. History The station went on the air as WKSD on June 7, 1989. On April 10, 1992, the station changed its call sign to WERT-FM, and on September 6, 1996, changed back to the original WKSD. WKSD serves as a sister station to WERT (AM) 1220 kHz in neighboring Van Wert. The original WERT-FM at 98.9 in Van Wert is now WBYR, now a Fort Wayne market station and no longer co-owned with WERT.
