WNPC (1060 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station licensed to Newport, Tennessee, United States. The station is owned by Bristol Broadcasting Company, Inc. 1060 AM is a United States and Mexican clear-channel frequency, on which KYW (AM), KYW and XEEP-AM are the dominant list of broadcast station classes#AM, Class A stations. WNPC must leave the air during nighttime hours to avoid interfering with the skywave signal of those Class A stations. FM Translator In addition to the main station at 1060 kHz, WNPC is relayed by FM translators; this gives the listener the choice of FM Broadcasting, FM, and high fidelity sound. WSEV (AM)
WSEV (930 kHz) operates as Sevierville, Tennessee's first and only local AM radio station. While other stations are licensed to Sevierville, their studios are based in Knoxville, Tennessee. History WSEV is the heritage station in Sevierville. It has aired the talents of future country singers, including Dolly Parton. In 1990 the station was purchased, along with its FM sister station WSEV-FM 105.5, by the Dollywood Broadcasting Company, a privately owned corporation whose shareholders included Parton; managing partner Orr & Earls Broadcasting, Inc., of Branson, Missouri; and other investors. The AM station's call letters remained WSEV, but the FM's call letters were changed to WDLY 105.5 to reflect the connection with Parton. White Pine, Tennessee
White Pine is a town in Jefferson and Hamblen counties in Tennessee, United States. It is part of the Morristown metropolitan area. The population was 2,471 at the 2020 census. History Before the settlement of the area by European settlers, the White Pine area was inhabited by an early group of Woodland Indians. The area was used by the group as a site for several large burial grounds and a trail used later by settlers of the community. European settlers first arrived in present-day White Pine during the final years of the American Revolutionary War. The community was originally known as "Dandridge Crossing", based on its proximity to the Jefferson County seat, Dandridge. After the American Civil War, a railroad route was constructed in the area, crossing a prominent stagecoach path. The town was later founded in 1870 due to the growth of the area.
