WLBG (860 AM) was a radio station licensed to Laurens, South Carolina. The station was owned by Emil Finley's Southeastern Broadcast Associates, Inc., and was licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to operate with 1 kW daytime and 12 watts at night. Its programming, prior to going silent in March 2025, was also heard on FM translator W281BX (104.1). WSSL-FM (100.5 MHz, "Whistle 100.5") is a commercial radio station licensed to Gray Court, South Carolina, and serving Greenville, Spartanburg and Upstate South Carolina. It airs a country music format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios are on North Main Street in downtown Greenville. On weekdays, WSSL-FM carries two nationally syndicated country music programs, ''The Bobby Bones Show'' heard evenings and '' After Midnite with Granger Smith'' heard overnight. WSSL-FM is a Class C0 station. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts, the maximum for most FM stations. Usually unlike dead air (broadcasting only silence), a station that is dark or silent does not even transmit a carrier signal. WOSF (105.3 FM) is an urban adult contemporary station licensed to Gaffney, South Carolina; serving the Charlotte, North Carolina market. WOSF is the Charlotte affiliate of the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. Owned by Urban One, the station's studios are located in South Charlotte near Carowinds, and the transmitter site is located in Dallas, North Carolina.
