WKQL (103.3 FM broadcasting, FM) is a classic hits formatted radio station. The station is licensed to Brookville, Pennsylvania. Owned by Renda Media,https://rendabroadcasting.com/our-markets/punxsutawney-pa it maintains its transmitter facility, but the station's programming and administration functions originate in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney, where it shares studio space with its affiliate stations WPXZ and WECZ. Since signing on the air for the first time in February 2000, this station had used the call letters WYTR, but had always maintained an oldies format, through ABC/SMN's Classic Hits (formerly "Oldies Radio") music format. WECZ (1540 AM) is an American commercially licensed daytime-only radio station, licensed to serve the community of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. The station operates with a power of 5,000 watts daytime, and 1,000 watts during critical hours. WECZ is owned by Renda Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of Renda Broadcasting Corporation of Pittsburgh. WECZ is simulcast over W265DI, an FM translator also licensed to Punxsutawney. The translator operates on 100.9 MHz, with 250 watts effective radiated power. Barnesboro, Pennsylvania
Barnesboro, Pennsylvania was a borough located in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. The Borough of Barnesboro evolved from a tract of land which was rich in timber and coal resources. The tract of land, located in Susquehanna Township, was originally granted to Edward C. Fisher in 1835 when it was a dense forest. Two early settlers David Ralston and Peter Garman cleared the land and sold the lumber. Three-fourths of the timber was carried on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Logging was a major industry for many years. Later, Daniel Stannard bought Peter Garman's 420 acres for farming. Years later the development of railroad facilities opened the area to the coal mining industry.
