WHWH (1350 AM) is a radio station in Princeton, New Jersey, serving Trenton, New Jersey. Established in 1963, the station is owned and operated by Multicultural Radio Broadcasting Licensee, LLC. History WHWH signed on September 7, 1963. The call letters stand for founder Herbert W. Hobler, a Princeton resident and Princeton University graduate. One of the first air personalities was Dave Moss, who moved from WKDN in Camden to become the station's first general manager and play-by-play voice of Princeton University sports. (Station owner Hobler served as on air analyst with Moss.) All-American player Bill Bradley led the 1964–65 Princeton Tigers men's basketball team, and Tigers football back Cosmo Iacavazzi starred for the university. The games were live on WHWH. The station has its studios and offices in Philadelphia and its transmitter site in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Guy Anthony Hutchinson (born November 22, 1974) is an American author, YouTuber, broadcaster, theme park historian and comedian. Published works Hutchinson (with Chris Mercaldo) wrote the book ''Sesame Place'' which was published by Arcadia Publishing. The book was made with the cooperation of Sesame Place and Sesame Workshop and tells the 35-year history of the Pennsylvania theme park in photos and text. Multicultural Broadcasting is a media company based in New York City founded by Chinese-American businessman Arthur Liu. It caters mostly to the Asian American community and owns television and radio stations in several of the top markets in multiple languages. Dick Standish
Dick Standish (born August 26, 1942) is an American journalist. Formative years Standish received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Rutgers University–New Brunswick in 1964. He was elected to the senior honor society, Cap and Skull, and served as news director and station manager at WRSU Radio Rutgers. Career Standish taught Broadcast Journalism in 1977 and 1980 at Rutgers University-Camden. This was a four-credit course that met three mornings each week. Standish began his professional career in 1964 at WHWH, Princeton. He served as news director, and covered the New Jersey state legislature and political campaigns. His documentary on the people of the New Jersey Pine Barrens won the New Jersey Broadcasters Association's Public Service Programming award in 1965. He worked at KYW-AM Newsradio from 1967 to 1978. The extended mediumwave broadcast band, commonly known as the AM expanded band, refers to the broadcast station frequency assignments immediately above the earlier upper limits of 1600 kHz in International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Region 2 (the Americas), and 1602 kHz in ITU Regions 1 (Europe, northern Asia and Africa) and 3 (southern Asia and Oceania). Adult standards (also sometimes known as the nostalgia or Big Band format) is a North American radio format heard primarily on AM or class A FM stations. Adult standards started in the 1950s and is aimed at "mature" adults, meaning mainly those people over 50 years of age, but it is mostly targeted for senior citizens. It is primarily on AM because market research reveals that only persons in that age group listen to music on AM in sizable numbers. Adult standards first became a popular format in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a way to reach mature adults who came of age before the rock era but were perhaps too mature for adult contemporary radio or too young for beautiful music or MOR stations. WIMG (1300 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Gospel music format. Licensed to Ewing, New Jersey, the station is currently owned by Morris Broadcasting Company of New Jersey, Inc. History WIMG is the oldest radio station in New Jersey.
