WGME-TV (channel 13) is a television station in Portland, Maine, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, which provides certain services to Waterville-licensed Fox affiliate WPFO (channel 23) under a local marketing agreement (LMA) with Cunningham Broadcasting. However, Sinclair effectively owns WPFO as the majority of Cunningham's stock is owned by the family of deceased group founder Julian Smith. The two stations share studios on Northport Drive in the North Deering section of Portland; WGME-TV's transmitter is located on Brown Hill west of Raymond. The station also maintains regional studios in the Lewiston– Auburn area, and the state capital in Augusta. Guy Gannett Communications was a family-owned business consisting of newspapers in Maine and a handful of television stations in the eastern United States. The company was founded by its namesake, Guy P. Gannett, in 1921, and was managed by a family trust from 1954 to 1998, when it sold most of its properties to The Seattle Times Company and Sinclair Broadcast Group. History William Howard Gannett, of Augusta, Maine, first published ''Comfort'' magazine in 1888—an eight-page advertisement for a patent medicine—but it was his son, Guy Patterson Gannett, who headed the push into daily journalism. WGAN (560 AM) is an commercial radio station licensed to Portland, Maine. The station is owned by Saga Communications and it airs a news/talk radio format. The station calls itself "Newsradio WGAN AM 560 and FM 98.5" The studios and offices are on Western Avenue in South Portland, Maine. The station is also heard on a 250-watt FM translator, 98.5 W253DA, which allows listeners who prefer FM radio to hear WGAN in Portland and its close suburbs. In addition, WGAN is heard on the HD2 channel of co-owned 93.1 WMGX. AM 560 broadcasts with 5,000 watts around the clock, covering much of Southern Maine and along the Maine Coast up to Rockland. WCSH (channel 6) is a television station in Portland, Maine, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Tegna Inc. The station's studios are located on Congress Square in Downtown Portland, and its transmitter is located on Winn Mountain in Sebago. Together with WLBZ (channel 2) in Bangor, which simulcasts most of WCSH's local newscasts, it is known as News Center Maine. WCSH is the oldest operating television station in Portland, signing on in December 1953. KFVS TV Mast (also Raycom America Tower Cape Girardeau) is a guyed mast that is 1677 feet (511.1 m) tall, used for transmitting television signals. It was built during 1960 and is located in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, USA at 37°25′46″N, 89°30′14″W.
