WESP (106.3 FM) is a radio station licensed to Jupiter, Florida. It airs a sports radio format, and is owned by Good Karma Brands, The station's studios are in West Palm Beach and the transmitter tower is in Riviera Beach. The station is licensed to HD Radio, but is not currently broadcasting in HD. History Prior to January 2007, 106.3 FM was known as WJBW, and between January 2007 and December 2011, it was known as WNEW-FM. Despite these call letter changes, the station's branding remained "B106.3". The WNEW call letters were formerly the call letters for New York City radio stations WNEW AM (now WBBR) and WNEW-FM, as well as New York City television station WNEW-TV (now WNYW). Jupiter is the northernmost town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. According to the 2020 US Census, the town had a population of 61,047. It is 84 miles north of Miami and 15 miles north of West Palm Beach, Florida, West Palm Beach. HD Radio
HD Radio (HDR) is a trademark for in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio broadcast technology. HD radio generally simulcast, simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information. HD Radio is used primarily by FM broadcasting, FM radio stations in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines, with a few implementations outside North America. HD Radio transmits the digital signals in unused portions of the same band as the analog AM and FM signals. As a result, radios are more easily designed to pick up both signals, which is why the HD in HD Radio is sometimes referred to stand for "hybrid digital", not "high definition". Christopher Michael Russo (born October 18, 1959), also known as "Mad Dog", is an American sports radio personality best known as the former co-host of the '' Mike and the Mad Dog'' sports radio program with Mike Francesa, which was broadcast on WFAN in New York City and simulcasted on the YES Network. Thomas Joyner (born November 23, 1949) is an American radio personality, host, philanthropist and former musician. Joyner is the former host of the nationally syndicated '' The Tom Joyner Morning Show'', and also founder of Reach Media Inc., the Tom Joyner Foundation, and BlackAmericaWeb.com. Early life Joyner was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, the son of Frances and Hercules L. Joyner. Urban Adult Contemporary
Urban adult contemporary, often abbreviated as urban AC or UAC, (also known as adult R&B,) is the name for a format of radio music, similar to an urban contemporary format. Radio stations using this format usually would not have hip hop music on their playlists, and generally include some mix of contemporary R&B and traditional R&B (while urban oldies stations emphasize only the latter).
