World English Bible
The World English Bible (WEB) is an English translation of the Bible freely shared online. The translation work began in 1994 and was deemed complete in 2020. Created by Michael Paul Johnson with help from volunteers, the WEB is an updated revision of the American Standard Version from 1901. The WEB has several versions available on its website, including both American and British styles of English. Another important distinction is two types of Old Testament: one limited to protocanon, while the other includes deuterocanon/apocrypha. WEBS (AM)
WEBS (1030 Hertz, kHz) is an American commercial AM radio, AM radio station licensed to serve the community of Calhoun, Georgia; the station serves the Gordon County, Georgia area. The station broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format. History WEBS-AM began broadcasting on November 1, 1966 at 1110 kHz. It was begun by the Stocks family—William, Emma Jo, Bruce and Sandy—from whose names the station's call sign originated. In 1980, WEBS was purchased by Kenyon D. Payne, formerly of Rome, Georgia, Rome. Ken grew up with a microphone in his hand because his father, Mather Payne, was owner and operator of WRGA. Randy Rhodes, owner of WJRP-LP "Power 107.7" in Calhoun, was also involved in station management; WJRP-LP also broadcasts from the same studios on South Wall Street in downtown Calhoun. Webs, formerly Freewebs, was a freemium, primarily static site-only web host founded in 2001 and active until 2023. The service offered free and premium website hosting plans, and their own templated website building service. Unusually, Webs did not offer any dynamic content support aside from their own dynamic "apps", despite offering FTP access and allowing HTML uploads. History Webs began in 2001 as Freewebs just after the dot-com bubble. It was a start-up launched by brothers Haroon and Zeki Mokhtarzada during their last year at the University of Maryland, College Park with the help of their younger brother Idris.
