WEAF (1130 kHz) is an urban contemporary gospel formatted AM radio station in Camden, South Carolina, United States. The station is owned by Jeff Andrulonis. Programming is featured from the Worship & Word Network. History At one time, this station had the letters WAME and an adult standards format. Then-owners GHB Broadcasting switched the format to sports talk and changed the callsign to WQIS. In 2006, Glory Communications Inc. purchased WEAF from Colonial Radio Group Inc., and the format was urban contemporary gospel. On November 8, 2016, WEAF was granted a Federal Communications Commission construction permit to move to 1120 kHz from a new transmitter site, change the community of license to Saint Stephen, decrease day power to 390 watts and eliminate night operation. From 1922 to 1946, WEAF was the callsign of the radio station that became WNBC and the flagship station of the NBC Red Network. This station is now known as WFAN in New York. WPTI (94.5 FM) is a commercial radio station, owned by iHeartMedia, licensed to Eden, North Carolina, and serving the Piedmont Triad, including the Greensboro–Winston-Salem– High Point media market. The station broadcasts a talk radio format; its studios and offices are located on Pai Park near Interstate 40 in Greensboro. WPTI has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts, the current maximum for FM stations. The signal provides at least secondary coverage from the southern suburbs of Roanoke to the western suburbs of Raleigh-Durham. The transmitter is located further north than most of the major Triad stations, allowing much of Southside Virginia ( Martinsville, Danville) to get a city-grade signal. Owned by Audacy, Inc., the station serves the New York metropolitan area, while its 50,000-watt clear channel signal can be heard at night throughout much of the eastern United States and Canada. WFAN's studios are located in the Hudson Square neighborhood of lower Manhattan and its transmitter is located on High Island in the Bronx. The current WFAN, and its sports format, is the second New York City station with that call sign and programming.
