WCFL (FM)
WCFL 104.7 FM is a Christian radio station licensed to Morris, Illinois and owned by the University of Northwestern – St. Paul. WCFL airs a Christian adult contemporary music format, relaying the programming of 91.7 WBGL in Champaign, Illinois. In a complaint filed with the Federal Communications Commission in 2017, WCFL claims that its signal has been subjected to co-channel interference from translator W284DA, which relays WRDZ. The translator is operated by Polnet Communications Ltd. of Chicago. History WCFL 104.7 originally held the call letters WRMI-FM, and was first licensed May 24, 1962. Chicago Federation Of Labor
The Chicago Federation of Labor (CFL) is an umbrella organization for unions in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It is a subordinate body of the AFL–CIO, and as of 2011 has about 320 affiliated member unions representing half a million union members in Cook County. Adult contemporary music (AC) is a form of radio-played popular music, ranging from 1960s vocal and 1970s soft rock music to predominantly ballad-heavy music of the present day, with varying degrees of easy listening, pop, soul, R&B, quiet storm and rock influence. Easy listening (including mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non- rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock and roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. WAUR (AM)
WAUR (1550 AM) is a radio station licensed to Somonauk, Illinois. The station is owned and operated by Nelson Multimedia Inc., and currently airs a classic hits format. Additional programming includes local news, high school sports, a weekly fishing and outdoor program, and NASCAR racing. The studios are located on Washington Street in downtown Morris, the station's original community of license. Previous studio locations include above the old downtown Hornsby's Five and Dime store on Liberty St. In 1977, the studios moved to the 3rd floor of the Baum Building and later to the Business and Technology Center on North Rt. 47 in Morris.
