WCCS (1160 AM) is a commercially licensed American radio station in Homer City, Pennsylvania, about 50 miles northeast of Pittsburgh and 25 miles northwest of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. WCCS broadcasts with a maximum daytime power output of 10,000 watts and 1,000 watts at night. The station operates with a four-tower directional antenna pattern and programs a daily format of news/talk, sports talk, and local news/sports reports. History Beginnings: A new AM in an FM world WCCS was the brainchild of founders Mark Harley and Ray Goss, both of whom had served as general managers at radio stations in the area that were owned by Progressive Publishing, which also published the Clearfield Progress newspaper. WDAD (1450 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. It is owned and operated by Renda Broadcasting, Renda Media. History WDAD was the first radio station in Indiana County, and was one of the first radio stations in the nation granted licenses after World War II had ended. The station has kept its original call letters throughout its history of more than half a century. WDAD's ownership was relatively stable, having only had four owners in its long history. The station was signed on November 4, 1945, under the corporate name Indiana Broadcasters, Inc. Paul Short served as company president and general manager. WQMU
WQMU is a hot adult contemporary radio station broadcast on 92.5 FM. It is owned and operated by Renda Media. History WQMU signed on in August 1968 at 103.1 MHz. From the day of its first sign-on until January 1990, WQMU was mostly automated, with formats varying from beautiful music to album rock, with music delivered on 10-inch reel-to-reel tape. The WQMU call letters alluded to its position statement promising Quality MUsic'. The station did however, air a live morning show program for many of its years, hosted by Mike Cavanagh, who was with the station since its sign-on in 1968 until 2007.
