Ben Davis High School
Ben Davis High School (BDHS) is a three-year high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. History Ben Davis was first established in 1892. The current school building was constructed in 1965. The school underwent extensive construction and renovation from 1998 to 2002 and experienced another addition of more classrooms which was completed prior to the 2007/2008 school year. With the newly opened Ninth Grade Center, the school boasts over under one continuous roof. The school is named for the 1880s Vandalia Railroad executive Benjamin Davis. He was instrumental in getting a stop on the railroad for a small community that would come to bear his name. The community members were so appreciative of Davis's efforts that they named the stop after him. The community around the stop became known as "Ben Davis". Kevin Calabro
Kevin Paul Calabro (born June 27, 1956) is an American sportscaster based in Seattle, Washington. The longtime voice of the former Seattle SuperSonics NBA franchise, Calabro has primarily called NBA basketball but has also announced collegiate football (alongside Yogi Roth) and basketball as well as MLS soccer. From 2016 to 2020, he served as the television play-by-play voice for the Portland Trail Blazers. He rejoined the Portland Trail Blazers as the Play-By-Play Voice for the 2021–22 season after stepping down in 2020 to be with his family in order to avoid exposure to COVID-19. Kristi Lee
Kristi Lee is the news director and a co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show ''The Bob & Tom Show'' and is responsible for delivering newscasts of various headlines (which are often used for humorous takeoffs) during the show. She is also a member of the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Lee often hosted or participated in Bob and Tom Radio: The Comedy Tour shows. Lee graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis and got her start on WBDG, the school's station. She attended Indiana University. Lee's first full-time job in communications was at WRTV, where she was a television engineer for six years. High school radio are radio stations located at high schools and usually operated by its students with faculty supervision. The oldest extant high school AM radio station is AM 1450 KBPS in Portland, Oregon. Portland radio station KBPS, first licensed in 1923, is the second oldest radio station overall in the city of Portland. The student body of Benson Polytechnic High School purchased the transmitter and other equipment from Stubbs Electric in Portland for $1,800. Money for the purchase of the station came from student body funds. On March 23, 1923, the student body of Benson was licensed by the federal government to operate a radio station using 200 watts of power on 834 kilocycles. WFNI (1070 AM broadcasting, AM) is a commercial radio, commercial Radio broadcasting, radio station licensed to Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Indiana. It is owned by the Emmis Corporation but is usually off the air. WFNI carried a sports radio, sports radio format, featuring ESPN Radio programming. The studios and offices are located at 40 Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1976.
