Väätsa Parish ( et, Väätsa vald) was a rural municipality in central Estonia. It was a part of Järva County. The municipality had a population of 1,479 (as of 1 January 2004) and covered an area of 195.33 km2. The population density was 7.6 inhabitants per km2. Administrative centre of the municipality was Väätsa small borough. Municipalities Of Estonia
A municipality ( et, omavalitsus, plural ) is the smallest administrative subdivision of Estonia. Each municipality is a unit of self-government with its representative and executive bodies. The municipalities in Estonia cover the entire territory of the country. Municipalities in Estonia are of two types: *Urban municipalities or towns (, singular ) *Rural municipalities or parishes (, singular ). There is no other status distinction between them.
