Vydas Gedvilas
Vydas Gedvilas (born 17 May 1959) is a Lithuanian basketball coach and politician, former Speaker of the Seimas, member of the Labour Party. Gedvilas graduated from the Lithuanian State Institute of Physical Education (now Lithuanian Sports University) in 1981 and started teaching in the institute. In 1999, he acquired a doctorate degree from the same institution. Between 1988 and 1993, Gedvilas was the coach of the LSU-Atletas men's basketball team. In 1993, he started as the head coach of the women's team of the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education, "Viktorija". He guided the team to Lithuanian and Baltic championship titles. Between 1996 and 2002, he worked as the head coach of the Lithuanian women's national basketball team, leading the team to its first European title. The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania (), or simply the Seimas ( ; ), is the unicameralism, unicameral legislative body of the Lithuania, Republic of Lithuania. The Seimas constitutes the legislative branch of Government of Lithuania, government in Lithuania, enacting laws and amendments to the Constitution of Lithuania, Constitution, passing the budget, confirming the Prime Minister and the Government of Lithuania, Government and controlling their activities. Irena Degutienė
Irena Degutienė (born 1 June 1949) is a Lithuanian politician and member of the conservative Homeland Union (Conservatives, Political Prisoners and Deportees, Christian Democrats), Homeland Union. She is currently the Deputy Speaker of Seimas, and was twice the acting Prime Minister of Lithuania, first from 4 May 1999 to 18 May 1999 and then from 27 October 1999 to 3 November 1999. She has also been the Speaker of Seimas from 15 September 2009 to 14 September 2012, as well as Ministry of Social Security and Labour (Lithuania), Minister for Social Security and Labour from 1996 to 2000. In 1978, she graduated from Vilnius University with a degree in medicine. Kelmė (; ; Yiddish: קעלם) is a city in northwestern Lithuania, a historical region of Samogitia. It has a population of 8,206 and is the administrative center of the Kelmė District Municipality. Name Kelmė's name is likely derived from the Lithuanian language, Lithuanian word ''kelmynės'', literally: ''the stubby place'', because of the forests that were there at the time of its founding. Lithuanian Sports University or LSU is a university in Kaunas, Lithuania, specializing in sports, physical activities, and physiology. It is headquartered in Žaliakalnis neighbourhood, in close proximity to the Kaunas Sports Hall and the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium. LSU-Atletas
KK Atletas () is a professional basketball club that is based in Kaunas district, Lithuania. Currently the team plays in the National Basketball League, in the past Atletas participated in the LKL and the Baltic League, before dissolving in 2007 and becoming BC Aisčiai-Atletas. In 2009, the team merged with BC Kaunas Triobet and played with the names of Kaunas, Baltai and LSU-Baltai. In 2013 club was renamed again to LSU-Atletas, which was merged with the NKL champions of the same name. Artūras Paulauskas (born 23 August 1953 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian politician. He was the Speaker of Seimas, the parliament of Lithuania, from 2000 to 2006, and he served as Acting President of Lithuania from 6 April 2004 to 12 July 2004. Early career Artūras Paulauskas graduated from Vilnius University with a degree in law in 1976. He then worked as an investigator and a prosecutor. He was Deputy Prosecutor General of Lithuania from 1987 to 1990 and Prosecutor General of Lithuania from 1990 to 1995. Viktoras Muntianas
Viktoras Muntianas (born 11 November 1951) is a Lithuanian politician of Moldovan descent and former Speaker of the Seimas. In 1968 he graduated from the high school in Marijampolė. In 1973 he enrolled in the Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute, completing his studies in 1978. Between 1986 and 1990 he was first deputy of Kėdainiai municipality chairman. Later he started a career in business, becoming manager of Ūkio bankas filial in Kėdainiai in 1994. After two years he became vice-president of Vikonda concern. Soon afterwards Muntianas renewed his political career. On 1997 he became mayor of Kėdainiai; in 2004 he was elected to the Seimas. Muntianas was Speaker of the Seimas from 2006 until resigning on 1 April 2008.
