Vyacheslav Grigorevich Domani (russian: link=no, Вячеслав Григорьевич Домани, born 2 May 1947) is a Russian former volleyball player who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1972 Summer Olympics. In 1972, he was part of the Soviet team which won the bronze medal in the Olympic tournament. He played all seven matches. Soviet Union Men's National Volleyball Team
The Soviet Union men's national volleyball team was the national volleyball team that had represented the Soviet Union in the International competitions between 1948 until 1991. FIVB considers Russia as the inheritor of the records of Soviet Union (1948–1991) and CIS (1992). The USSR Volleyball Federation joined the FIVB in 1948, a year after the foundation of the international governing body. Volleyball has been part of the Summer Olympics program for both men and women consistently since 1964. Brazil, the United States and the former Soviet Union are the only teams to win multiple gold medals at the men's tournament since its introduction. The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and commonly known as Munich 1972 (german: München 1972), was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. The event was overshadowed by the Munich massacre in the second week, in which eleven Israeli athletes and coaches and a West German police officer at Olympic village were killed by Palestinian Black September members. The motivation for the attack was the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Dmitri Viacheslavovich Domani (russian: Дмитрий Вячеславович Домани; born 27 September 1974) is a Russian professional basketball official and a former player. He is 2.00 m tall and he weighs 98 kg. H formerly played for Saint Joseph's University. Post-playing career and fraud conviction From 2013 to 2015 he served as an executive director of the Russian Basketball Federation and a general manager of the Russia men's national basketball team. In August 2015, Andrei Kirilenko was elected as the president of the federation and ordered a financial audit of their budget. As a consequence of that audit, Domani was charged with fraud. According to the first charge, the federation was paying for events and banquets in their office that were not actually held (according to invoices, events with 200 attendees were held in a 40 m2 room), with the money being kicked back to Domani and other federation managers.
