Vox (DC Universe Character)
Malcolm Arnold "Mal" Duncan, currently known as Vox (also known as the Guardian, Hornblower, and Herald), is a superhero appearing in media published by DC Comics. Introduced in April 1970, he is DC's first African-American superhero. Publication history Mal Duncan made his first appearance in ''Teen Titans'' #26, and was created by Robert Kanigher and Nick Cardy. In that issue, the African-American Mal kissed the Caucasian Lilith Clay goodbye, in a scene considered to be the first interracial kiss in comic book history. When editorial director Carmine Infantino objected to the scene, thinking it too controversial, editor Dick Giordano kept the scene, but colored it in blue as a night scene, to draw less attention to the moment. Giordano recalls receiving many letters about the kiss, both hate mail (including one death threat) and many supportive letters approving of the kiss. Tony Daniel
Antonio Salvador Daniel (born 1977), known by the Anglicised professional name Tony S. Daniel or simply Tony Daniel, is an American comic book writer and artist, known for his work on various books for DC Comics, including ''Teen Titans'', '' Flash: The Fastest Man Alive'', and ''Batman'' and ''Deathstroke'' and '' Nocterra'' as well as many other books as well as many covers for both Marvel and DC Comics. Career Daniel worked on various titles with Image Comics including his own creation, The Tenth. He also worked on titles for Marvel Comics. He gained status at DC Comics with his run on ''Teen Titans'' with writer Geoff Johns. He finished out the short lived '' Flash: The Fastest Man Alive'' series with Marc Guggenheim from issues #11-13, which ended with Bart Allen's death. Justice League
The Justice League, or Justice League of America (JLA), is a group of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #28 (March 1960). Writer Gardner Fox conceived the team as a revival of the Justice Society of America, a similar team from DC Comics from the 1940s which had been pulled out of print due to a decline in sales. The Justice League is an all-star ensemble cast of established superhero characters from DC Comics' portfolio. Diegetically, these superheroes usually operate independently but occasionally assemble as a team to tackle especially formidable villains. This is in contrast to certain other superhero teams such as Doom Patrol or Marvel Comics, Marvel’s X-Men whose characters were created specifically to be part of the team, with the team being central to their identity.
