''Ritual Spirit'' is an EP by British trip hop collective Massive Attack, released on 28 January 2016. It features trip hop artist Tricky for the first time since the release of ''Protection'' in 1994, and also features Scottish hip-hop group Young Fathers, London rapper Roots Manuva and singer Azekel. Background A week before the release of the EP, the group released an iPhone application called "The Fantom", which remixed songs using heartbeat, location and time of day. Massive Attack
Massive Attack are an English trip hop collective formed in 1988 in Bristol, England, by Robert Del Naja, Robert "3D" Del Naja, Daddy G, Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, Tricky (musician), Adrian "Tricky" Thaws and Andrew Vowles, Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles. The group currently consists of Del Naja and Marshall. They released their debut album in 1991, ''Blue Lines,'' which has been included on numerous best-of lists and is generally considered the first album of the 'trip-hop' genre. Weighted Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean. Standard Score
In statistics, the standard score or ''z''-score is the number of standard deviations by which the value of a raw score (i.e., an observed value or data point) is above or below the mean value of what is being observed or measured.
