''Volume Dois'' (''Volume Two'') is the ninth studio album released by the Brazilian rock band Titãs. Following the success of the previous album, ''Acústico MTV (Titãs album), Acústico MTV'', ''Volume Dois'' features unplugged arrangements of previously recorded Titãs' songs, along with some new ones, and features musicians from the São Paulo Municipal Symphony Orchestra. It is one of their most successful albums, having sold more than 1 million copies as of 2015. Background, production and concept In the final performances of the ''Acústico MTV (Titãs album), Acústico MTV'' tour, Titãs already talked about a future studio album with more acoustic versions of their songs. The São Paulo Municipal Symphony Orchestra ( Portuguese: ''Orquestra Sinfônica Municipal de São Paulo''), also known as OSM, is one of the artistic bodies of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. Charles Gavin
Charles de Souza Gavin (born 9 July 1960) is a Brazilian drummer and music producer, perhaps best known for his 25-year tenure with rock band Titãs. Before Titãs, he had brief stints at Ira! and RPM. Early life and first works At age 8, his friends invited him to participate on 7 September ( Brazil's Independence Day) festival. The problem was the absence of decent percussion instruments. So, the school decided to improvise these with kitchen utensils. But there was still an instrument remaining, which would be quite difficult for a not so skillful drummer to play. Gavin, who was already used to beat the table at school, was chosen for the job. The band, commanded by Gavin, won the originality prize. ''Õ Blésq Blom'' is the fifth studio album by Brazilian rock band Titãs. Background During the previous album's ('' Go Back'') tour, in Recife's leg, Titãs met at the Boa Viagem Beach a couple of repentismo musicians, Mauro and Quitéria (aged 68 and 57, respectively). After listening to them and appreciating their performance, they decided to record them right there, using a recorder that vocalist Paulo Miklos provided. The recorded song was used as the opening and ending tracks of the album and of its subsequent tour and was already implemented during the ''Go Back'' tour.
