Volt Bulgaria (, abbreviated Volt) is a Social liberalism, social-liberal List of political parties in Bulgaria, political party in Bulgaria. It is the Bulgarian branch of Volt Europa, a political movement that operates on a European level. It is currently part of the centrist electoral coalition We Continue the Change. Foundation Volt Bulgaria was founded in Sofia on 19 May 2018, with Nastimir Ananiev as its first chairman. History 2019 European Parliament election The 2019 European Parliament election in Bulgaria, 2019 European Parliament election was the first election in which Volt took part. The party obtained 0.18% of the Vote in Bulgaria. Sofia
Sofia ( ; bg, София, Sofiya, ) is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Bulgaria, largest city of Bulgaria. Asen Vaskov Vasilev ( bg, Асен Васков Василев; born 9 September 1977) is a Bulgarian politician, economist, and entrepreneur who is the current Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance since 13 December 2021. He is the co-leader of We Continue the Change, a political movement he co-founded with Kiril Petkov. Childhood and education Vasilev was born on September 9, 1977, in Haskovo, Bulgaria. He earned a degree in economics from Harvard University in 2000 and continued studies at Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School. Kiril Petkov Petkov ( bg, Кирил Петков Петков; born 17 April 1980) is a Bulgarian politician, economist, and entrepreneur, who served as Prime Minister of Bulgaria from December 2021 to August 2022. He is the co-leader of We Continue the Change, a political party he co-founded with Asen Vasilev. Early life and education Petkov was born on 17 April 1980, in Plovdiv. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University, where he was ranked in the top 10% of his class. 2021 Bulgarian General Election
General elections were held in Bulgaria on 14 November 2021 to elect both the President and the National Assembly. They were the country's third parliamentary elections in 2021, with no party able to form a government after the elections in April and July. A second round of the presidential elections were held on 21 November 2021 as no candidate was able to receive a majority of the vote in the first round. April 2021 Bulgarian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Bulgaria on 4 April 2021 at the end of the term of National Assembly members elected in 2017. Parties in the governing coalition led by Boyko Borisov lost seats and no party leader was able to form a coalition government within the time limit. This triggered the July 2021 Bulgarian parliamentary election. Electoral system The 240 members of the National Assembly are elected by open list proportional representation from 31 multi-member constituencies ranging in size from 4 to 16 seats. The electoral threshold is 4% for parties, with seats allocated using the largest remainder method. Sopot ( bg, Сопот ) is a Bulgarian town situated in the fertile sub-Balkan mountain valley of Karlovo (which is the western part of the famous Rose Valley), immediately below the steep southern slopes of the Troyan Balkan Mountain (Central Stara Planina).
