Volován is a pop-rock Mexican Avanzada Regia band from Monterrey, Nuevo León that was formed in 1998. Biography It is internationally well known for its collaborations with the American Andy Chase (Smashing Pumpkins), Eric Matthews (Cardinal). the Englishman Joe Robinson (Badly Drawn Boy) and the Mexican Alejandro Rosso (Plastilina Mosh). The members of the band are Chalo Galvan (guitar and voice), Gerardo Galvan (choirs) and Bruno Bressa (Drums). Their singles and collaborations have been included in important soundtracks like ''Y Tu Mamá También'', ''La Hija del Caníbal'' and ''Amar Te Duele''. Avanzada Regia
Avanzada Regia was a musical movement in the mid-1990s from Monterrey in Mexico. Origins In 1995, the group Zurdok Movimiento won the Battle of the Bands at the Rockotitlan music festival, becoming the first band not from Mexico City to win it, thus creating such expectations towards the city that the record labels began to move there to search for groups. La Ultima de Lucas, made up of young people all under twenty years old, but which had talented musicians in its lineup, was the first band from Monterrey to sign a record contract. The Latin American phenomenon of Control Machete was followed by, by way of a domino effect, more bands. Zurdok Movimiento (who started it all) were finally signed by Discos Manicomio, an imprint of PolyGram, as well as the rapcore group called La Flor de Lingo. ''Amar te duele'' (Spanish for: "Loving Hurts You", also interpreted as "Loving You Hurts”) is a 2002 Mexican cinema, Mexican Romance film, romantic Drama (film and television), drama film written by Carolina Rivera and directed by Fernando Sariñana. Andy Chase
Andy Chase is an American musician, record producer, and label owner. He formed the band Ivy with Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and Dominique Durand, now his wife. Chase owns Unfiltered Records and co-owned Stratosphere Sound studio with Schlesinger and James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins. Early life Chase grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. He was a fan of pop and new wave acts in the 1980s such as the Smiths, Talk Talk, Blondie, and the Cars. At a portable home studio, he wrote music and played keyboards and guitar. Eric Matthews (born January 12, 1969, in Compton, California, United States) is an American composer, musician, recording artist, and record producer. Career Eric Matthews began his serious recording career as one half of the band Cardinal. Cardinal was formed with Australian singer-songwriter Richard Davies in 1992 while both lived in Boston, Massachusetts. Cardinal introduced Matthews as a multi-instrumentalist and arranger while Davies contributed most of the songwriting.
