Volodymyr Polovets
Volodymyr Polovets () is a Ukrainian historian. He is a Doctor of Historical Sciences and a professor of the Chernihiv Collegium. Biography Polovets was born in an old Ruthenian (Ukrainian) village of Vepryk (Bobrovytsia Raion, Chernihiv Oblast) on 2 January 1937. In 1958 he graduated the History and Philosophy faculty of the Nizhyn Gogol State University. In 1972 Polovets successfully defended his graduate thesis titled as "Development of economical cooperation of Union republics during years of the first five-year plan". He worked as the Soviet communist official in the Ukrainian SSR. Chernihiv Collegium
The Chernihiv Collegium () was one of the first educational institutions in the Cossack Hetmanate to provide complete secondary and, subsequently, higher spiritual education on the left bank of the Dnieper. In the period of its highest prosperity, the collegium became a major educational and intellectual center and gained fame in Russia as “Chernigov Athens”. In historiography, the Chernihiv Collegium is considered one of the "first offspring" of the Kyiv-Mohyla Collegium. The collegium is located in the center of Chernihiv, on the edge of the rampart of the former fortress, next to the St. Boris and Gleb Cathedral at the Dytynets Park. Bobrovytsia Raion
Bobrovytsia Raion () was a raion (district) of Chernihiv Oblast, northern Ukraine. Its administrative centre was located at the city of Bobrovytsia. Nizhyn Gogol State University
The Nizhyn Gogol State University () is an academic state-sponsored university in Ukraine, located in Nizhyn, Chernihiv Oblast. It is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Ukraine. First Five-year Plan (Soviet Union)
The first five-year plan (, ) of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was a list of economic goals, implemented by Communist Party General Secretary Joseph Stalin, based on his policy of socialism in one country. Leon Trotsky had delivered a joint report to the April Plenum of the Central Committee in 1926 which proposed a program for national industrialisation and the replacement of annual plans with five-year plans. His proposals were rejected by the Central Committee majority which was controlled by the troika and derided by Stalin at the time. Stalin's version of the five-year plan was implemented in 1928 and took effect until 1932. The Soviet Union entered a series of five-year plans which began in 1928 under the rule of Joseph Stalin.
