The Volkswagen Passat (B9) is a mid-size car / large family car (D-segment) manufactured by Volkswagen since 2023, replacing the Passat B8 model, and the B9 is the ninth-generation model in the Volkswagen Passat series. It is available strictly as a 5-door estate, mainly for the European market, marketed as Estate or Variant. The Volkswagen Group MLB platform is the company's platform strategy, announced in 2012, for shared modular construction of its longitudinal, front-engined automobiles.
