Volandia
Volandia Park and Flight Museum is the largest Italian aeronautical museum, as well as one of the largest in Europe. Volandia displays over 100 aircraft. The museum covers an area of ca. 60,000 m2 (645,000 sq ft) of which 20,000 m2 (215,000 sq ft) are indoors. It opened in 2010, after a 10-year preparation phase. The museum is located immediately adjacent to Milan-Malpensa Airport within the historic buildings of the Caproni Vizzola plant, dating from 1913. Since its foundation in 2010, the park-museum has been enriched with numerous collections, including the Luciano Piazzai Modeling Collection, and the Flaminio Bertoni Museum; it also houses the Gruppo Bertone Collection, which brings together some of the most famous cars designed by the Turin car body shop. Flaminio Bertoni
Flaminio Bertoni (Varese, Masnago, Italy, 10 January 1903 – Paris, France, 7 February 1964) was an Italian automobile designer from the years preceding World War II until his death in 1964. Before his work in industrial design, Bertoni was a sculptor. Working at Citroën for decades, Bertoni designed the Traction Avant (1934), Citroën 2CV, 2CV, the Citroën H Van, H van, the Citroën DS, DS, and the Citroën Ami, Ami 6. The DS was often exhibited at industrial design showcases, such as the 1957 Milan Triennale Exposition, and inspired French coach builder Henri Chapron, who produced coupé and cabriolet versions of the DS. In 1961, the French Minister of Culture presented Bertoni with the prestigious ''Order des Arts et des Lettres'' award. The province of Varese dedicated a museum to his memory. It opened in May 2007. Marco Reguzzoni
Marco Giovanni Reguzzoni (born 30 May 1971) is an Italian politician and entrepreneur. He was President of Varese Province from 2002 to 2008. He was a member of the Italian Parliament as congressman and president of the Northern League group since 2013 and now he is the President of Volandia, the largest museum of flight in Europe. Biography Reguzzoni was born in Busto Arsizio. Bachelor in economical science and engineering, he was councilman in Busto Arsizio (from 1993 to 1997) and province councilman from 1993.
