Probištip
Probištip ( mk, Пробиштип ) is a town in North Macedonia, and seat of Probištip Municipality. The town has a population of 10,826. Features Probištip is located in the southwest corner of the Osogovo Mountains, in northeastern North Macedonia. The region has been well-known since Roman times for its mineral wealth and mining industry, which flourished during Yugoslav times. It has a long tradition of hearty country eating, and is close to both the monastery of Gabriel Lesnovski (dedicated to St.Archangel Michael and St.Gavril Lesnovski) and the stone formations of Kuklica. The mines of Zletovo provide most of the natural materials that are processed in Probištip. ''Time of the Comet'' ( sq, Koha e Kometës) is a 2008 Albanian historical drama/black comedy film adapted from the 1985 novel by Albanian author Ismail Kadare titled ''Black Year'' ( sq, Viti i Mbrapshtë). The film was directed by Fatmir Koçi, while Blerim Destani and Masiela Lusha starred in the leading roles. German bodybuilder and actor Ralf Möller also appeared in the film. Plot The film takes place in 1914 when William of Wied was enthroned as Prince of Albania, and the Principality of Albania was occupied by all the neighbouring countries. ''The Third Half'' ( mk, Трето полувреме ) is a Macedonian-Czech-Serbian film that deals with Macedonian football during World War II, and the deportation of Jews from Macedonia. It is a story of love during wartime and a country's passion for soccer. The government of Macedonia considered the film of national interest and funded it with one million euros. ''The Third Half'' was selected as the Macedonian entry for Best Foreign Language at the 85th Academy Awards. Plot The film is set in what is today North Macedonia, then part of the Vardar Banovina, a province in Kingdom Yugoslavia, and follows the period shortly after the Tripartite Pact invasion of the region. ''The Secret Book'' is a Macedonian feature film combining the detective, thriller and conspiracy fiction genres, based on "Secret Book" (french: Le Livre Secret, mk, Тајната книга), a real mystical book written by the Bogomils with Glagolitic letters (the first Slav alphabet, made by SS. Cyril and Methodius). Bogomil ideas, carried back to France and Italy from the Balkans by refugees or returning crusaders in the 11th century, became the basis of the Cathar heresy.
