Vladimir Gabrichidze
Vladimir Gabrichidze (born 16 May 1968) is a former professional tennis player from Georgia. Career Gabrichidze won the doubles at the USSR Championships on six occasions and was also the singles winner once. He also represented the Soviet Union in their Davis Cup World Group qualifier in 1990. When he returned to the Davis Cup two years later, it was with the CIS team but from 1995 he competed for the Georgians. By the time he made his last Davis Cup appearance in 2002, Gabrichidze had taken part in 18 ties for Georgia, winning 11 of his 16 singles matches and 10 of 14 doubles rubbers. In 1991 he played in the biggest tournament of his career, the Italian Open, part of the ATP Tour's Championship Series. Dimitri Poliakov (born 19 January 1968) is a former professional tennis player from Ukraine. Career Poliakov, a clay court specialist and the Soviet singles champion in 1990, had his breakthrough year in 1991, when he won the Yugoslavia Open, an ATP Tour event. This saw him break into the top 100 for the first time. He was also runner-up in the Austrian Open, with partner Pablo Arraya. These would be the only two ATP Tour finals that he reached during his career. In 1993 he made it into the semi-finals of the Kremlin Cup, as qualifier. He defeated number three seed Amos Mansdorf in the opening round and then best Zimbabwean Byron Black 6–0, 6–3 and Martin Damm of the Czech Republic. Christian Carlos Miniussi Ventureira (born 5 July 1967) is a former tennis player from Argentina. Miniussi turned professional in 1984. Roberto Argüello
Roberto Argüello (born 12 May 1963) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career Argüello was an ambidextrous player, capable of using right-handed shots for balls to his right and left-handed stokes for balls to the left of him. He however favoured a two-handed forehand and backhand. The Argentine was the 1977 Junior Orange Bowl champion and four years later won the Under-18s Orange Bowl. In 1982, the year of the Falklands War, he left tennis in order to serve with the Argentine Army. He played just one tournament that season, the Buenos Aires Open in February. Argüello returned to the Grand Prix tennis circuit in 1983 and made an immediate impression, winning the Venice Open, as a qualifier. Mihnea-Ion Năstase (born 7 February 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Romania. He is a nephew of two-time Grand Slam winner Ilie Năstase and his father, Constantin Năstase, was a Romanian Davis Cup representative.
