Vladimir Bakin
Vladimir Yuryevich Bakin (; born 25 November 1953) is a Russian military general who served among others as Commander of the Moscow Military District (2005–2009). Biography Born on November 25, 1953, in the village of Cheremkhovo, Ivanovsky District, Amur Oblast, RSFSR, son of a military man. Since 1971 he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR. In 1975 he graduated from the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School. He served as a platoon, company, and battalion commander in the Carpathian Military District. In 1986 he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy. In 1986-1993 he served as regiment commander, chief of staff of a division in the Transbaikal Military District. In 1995, he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia and was appointed commander of the 18th Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 11th Army Corps. 11th Army Corps (Russian Federation)
The 11th Army Corps () is a tactical formation of the Russian Ground Forces, formed in 2016 as part of the Coastal Troops of the Baltic Fleet, currently in the Leningrad Military District. The corps is located in Kaliningrad Oblast, with its headquarters in the city of Gusev. The corps was formed on 1 April 2016, and operates from Kaliningrad Oblast. Its first commander was . On 1 February 2021 the revival of the 75th Guards Motor Rifle Regiment at Sovetsk (until 1946 - the city of Tilsit), formerly part of the 40th Guards Tank Division, was reported. It was reported that the new regiment would form part of the newly forming motor rifle division of the 11th Army Corps, likely a revived 1st Guards Motor Rifle Division. Volga–Ural Military District
The Volga–Ural Military District was a military district of the Russian Ground Forces, formed on 1 September 2001 by the amalgamation of the Volga Military District and the Ural Military District. The headquarters of the Ural Military District, located at Yekaterinburg became the new headquarters of the merged district. In 2010 the District was merged with part of the Siberian Military District to form the new Central Military District.
