Kırklareli Province
Kırklareli Province () is a Provinces of Turkey, province in northwestern Turkey on the west coast of the Black Sea. The province neighbours Bulgaria to the north along a long border. It borders the province of Edirne to the west and the province of Tekirdağ to the south and province of Istanbul to the southeast. Kırklareli is the capital city of the province. Its area is 6,459 km2, and its population is 369,347 (2022). Çakıllı
Çakıllı (former ''Erenler'' and ''Çakalondon'') is a town (''belde'') in the Vize District, Kırklareli Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,981 (2022). The town is situated on Turkish state highway State road D.020 (Turkey), D.020 which connects İstanbul to Kırklareli. Distance to Vize is and to Kırklareli is . The earliest inhabitants around Çakıllı were Thracians of the ancient ages. In Middle Ages it was a part of the Byzantine Empire, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. Turkish traveller Evliya Çelebi described the settlement as a settlement where Turks and Greeks lived together in the 17th century. After the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) Turkish refugees from Bulgaria were also settled in Çakıllı. Çakıllı was declared a seat of township in 1969. Kıyıköy
Kıyıköy, historically Medea (; ; ), is a town (''belde'') in the Vize District, Kırklareli Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,160 (2022). It is on the Black Sea coast, from Vize and away from Kırklareli. It became a municipality in 1987. Fishing, forestry and tourism are the main local sources of income. The town has a small beach while the surrounding area is covered by dense forest mainly of oak. Two streams, the Kazandere and the Pabuçdere, surround the town in the south and north respectively and flowi into the Black Sea. The Kasatura Bay Nature Reserve Area is south of the town along the Black Sea and offers a pristine forest and beach. The only naturally growing grove of black pine (''European black pine, Pinus nigra'') in Turkish Rumelia is found here.
