''Vitula broweri'', or Brower's vitula moth, is a species of snout moth in the genus ''Vitula''. It was described by Carl Heinrich in 1956. It is found in much of North America, including British Columbia, Manitoba, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oklahoma, Ontario, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Carl Heinrich (1880 New York City – 1955) was an American entomologist. Life He studied Greek and drama at the University of Chicago, he moved to Washington D.C., in 1902, where he worked in business. In 1908, he went to New York to study music. Heinrich moved back to Washington and in 1913 joined the United States Department of Agriculture. He initially worked on applied entomology but later switched to specialise in the study of Lepidoptera. The Pyralidae, commonly called pyralid moths, snout moths or grass moths, are a family of Lepidoptera in the ditrysian superfamily Pyraloidea. In many (particularly older) classifications, the grass moths (Crambidae) are included in the Pyralidae as a subfamily, making the combined group one of the largest families in the Lepidoptera.
