Vittorio Agnoletto
Vittorio Emanuele Agnoletto (born 6 March 1958 in Milan) is an Italian doctor, politician and a former Member of the European Parliament for the Southern Italy constituency. He was first elected in the 2004 European Parliament elections on the Communist Refoundation Party (Italian: ''Partito della Rifondazione Comunista'', PRC) list, part of the European Left. He was not re-elected in the 2009 European Parliament elections. Agnoletto sat on the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs and was a substitute for the Committee on International Trade, and a substitute for the Delegation for relations with the United States. Career A graduate in medicine and surgery at the University of Milan (1985), he specialized in occupational medicine, and became co-founder (1987) and national chairman (1992–2001) of LILA - Italian League against AIDS. AIDS
Human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is a spectrum of conditions caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), a retrovirus. Following initial infection an individual may not notice any symptoms, or may experience a brief period of influenza-like illness. Typically, this is followed by a prolonged incubation period with no symptoms. If the infection progresses, it interferes more with the immune system, increasing the risk of developing common infections such as tuberculosis, as well as other opportunistic infections, and tumors which are rare in people who have normal immune function. The World Social Forum (WSF, pt, Fórum Social Mundial ) is an annual meeting of civil society organizations, first held in Brazil, which offers a self-conscious effort to develop an alternative future through the championing of counter-hegemonic globalization. The Province of Milan ( it, Provincia di Milano) was a province in the Lombardy region, Italy. Its capital was the city of Milan. Proletarian Democracy ( it, Democrazia Proletaria, DP) was a far-left political party in Italy. History 1970s DP was founded in 1975 as a joint electoral front of the Proletarian Unity Party (PdUP), Workers Vanguard (AO) and the "Workers Movement for Socialism" (MLS), for the 1975 Italian regional elections. The Balkans ( ), also known as the Balkan Peninsula, is a geographical area in southeastern Europe with various geographical and historical definitions.
