Vista, California
Vista (; Spanish language, Spanish for "view") is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. It is a medium-sized city within the San Diego-Carlsbad metropolitan statistical area. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, Vista had a population of 98,381. Current data estimates a 2023 population of 99,835. Vista's sphere of influence also includes portions of unincorporated San Diego County to the north and east, with a county island in the central west. Located just inland from the Pacific Ocean, it has a Mediterranean climate. Much of Vista's current territory was once part the Mexican land grants Rancho Buena Vista (Felipe), Rancho Buena Vista and Rancho Guajome. Rancho Guajome
Rancho Guajome was a Mexican land grant in present-day San Diego County, California, given in 1845 by Governor Pío Pico to Indian brothers Andrés and José Manuel. The name comes from a Luiseño phrase involving the word "frog", likely ''wakhavumi'' "frog pond" or ''waxáawu-may'' "little frog". The grant was south of the San Luis Rey River and Rancho Monserate and north of present-day Vista. The site is now registered as California Historical Landmark #940. Rancho Buena Vista was a Ranchos of California, Mexican land grant in present-day San Diego County, California, given in 1845 by Governor Pío Pico to Felipe, an Indian. Howea
''Howea'' is a genus of two palms, '' H. belmoreana'' and '' H. forsteriana'', both endemic to Lord Howe Island, Australia. Anna's hummingbird (''Calypte anna'') is a North American species of hummingbird named after Anna Masséna, Duchess of Rivoli. It is native to western coastal regions of North America.
