Vishwanath Datta
Vishwanath Datta (1835 — 23 February 1884) was a Bengali lawyer, philanthropist and novelist. He was the father of Swami Vivekananda, Mahendranath Dutta and Bhupendranath Dutta. Early life Vishwanath was born to an aristocratic Hindu family of North Calcutta. His father Durgaprasad (1816—1850/55) had preferred the life of '' Sannyas'' and left home when Vishwanath was only six years old. His mother Shyamasundari Devi was an educated woman. She wrote a Bengali poetical work “Gangabhakti Tarangaini” (Bengali: গঙ্গাভক্তি তরঙ্গিনী). Durgaprasad and Shyamasundari had two children - a daughter, who died at a young age, and then a son, Vishwanath. Shyamasundari died of cholera in 1847. Vishwanath Shahdeo
Vishwanath Shahdeo (12 August 1817 – 16 April 1858) was the king of the Barkagarh estate and a rebel in the Indian rebellion of 1857. In 1855, he declared himself independent and defeated British forces in Hatia. He led rebels of Ramgarh Battalion in 1857. But defeated by Company forces with the help of king of Pithoria Jagatpal Singh. He was eventually caught and was hung from a tree along with his accomplices in 1858. Late Pt. Acharya Vishwanath Rao Ringe 'Tanarang' born on 6 December 1922 was a Hindustani Classical Music vocalist and composer. He belonged to Gwalior Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music. He composed more than 2000 bandishs in about 200 ragaas, for which he has been enlisted in Limca Book of Records. Vishwanath Pratap Singh (25 June 1931 – 27 November 2008) was an Indian politician who served as the prime minister of India from 1989 to 1990 and the Raja Bahadur of Manda. He was educated at Allahabad University and Fergusson College in Pune. In 1969, he joined the Indian National Congress party and was elected as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Viswanatha Nayaka was the Vijayanagara viceroy to Madurai in south India during the 16th century. He later became the ruler of Madurai after the fall of the Vijayanagara empire. Vishvanath Narayan Mandlik, C.S.I. (8 March 1833 – 9 May 1899) was an eminent Bombay citizen, lawyer, author and a legal expert on Hindu law. Although a conservative when dealing in several cases involving Hindu traditions (where he opposed state intervention), he supported some reforms such as education for women. He also translated several English classics and law books into Marathi.
