Vishnu Prasanna Vasanthan Perumal is an Indian chess grandmaster and coach. Chess career Vishnu began playing chess at the age of 12 after being introduced to the game by his mother. He won the 2013 Chennai Blitz Championship, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament and defeating grandmasters J. Deepan Chakkravarthy, Adhiban Baskaran, and Shyam Sundar M. Coaching In 2013, Vishnu turned to coaching shortly after earning the Grandmaster title. He is best known for having coached grandmaster Gukesh D, whom he first met in July 2017. Grandmaster (GM) is a Chess title, title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Chess Championship, World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Adhiban Baskaran
Adhiban Baskaran (born 15 August 1992) is an Indian chess grandmaster. He was the 2008 World Under-16 Champion and the 2009 Indian champion. He is currently the 21st highest rated player in India. Career In 2007 he won the Asian under-16 championship in Tashkent. Adhiban played on the first board for the gold medal-winning Indian team at the Under-16 Chess Olympiad of 2007 and 2008. In 2011, he won the Cultural Village tournament in Wijk aan Zee which qualified him for the 2012 Tata Steel C tournament. In this latter event, he tied for 3rd–4th with Daan Brandenburg with a score of 8.5/13. Gukesh Dommaraju (born 29 May 2006) is an Indian chess grandmaster and the reigning World Chess Champion. A chess prodigy, Gukesh is the youngest undisputed world champion, the youngest player to have surpassed a FIDE rating of 2750, doing so at the age of 17, and the third-youngest to have surpassed 2700 Elo at the age of 16. In 2018, he passed the Elo rating of 2600 at 14 years old, which at the time made him the third youngest player in history to do so.
