Virudhachalam (state Assembly Constituency)
Vridhachalam is a legislative assembly constituency in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Before the 2008 delimitation, it was part of Chidambaram Lok Sabha constituency. Since 2008, it has been a part of Cuddalore Lok Sabha constituency. Cuddalore District
Cuddalore District is one of the 38 List of districts of Tamil Nadu, districts in the States and union territories of India, state of Tamil Nadu in India. History Since ancient times, the old town has been a seaport. Through the centuries, Cuddalore has been subject to a number of foreign powers including the Netherlands, Portugal, France and more recently, the British. In the 1600s, the French and English came to Cuddalore for trade and business. The French established a settlement at Pondicherry and the British at Cuddalore. The French and English, while engaged in the Seven Years' War, fought the naval Battle of Cuddalore (1758), Battle of Cuddalore on 29 April 1758. 2021 Tamil Nadu State Assembly Election
The Sixteenth Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election was held on 6 April 2021, to elect representatives from the 234 constituencies in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election, ending the decade-long reign of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The DMK's leader M. K. The Fifteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 16 May 2016 for the 232 seats (except Thanjavur Assembly constituency, Thanjavur and Aravakurichi Assembly constituency, Aravakurichi for which held on 26 October 2016) of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Legislative Assembly in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The Fourteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members from 234 constituencies in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Results were released on 13 May 2011.
