Virgilio Da Costa
Virgilio Da Costa Neves (23 September 1881 – unknown) was a Portuguese footballer who played as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona. He is best known for being the first Portuguese player to wear the FC Barcelona shirt when he played for them in 1903. He was often mentioned in the press of his time as D'Acosta or Da Acosta, and was erroneously considered to be of Italian origin. Between 1900 and 1905 he studied Mechanical Engineering at the Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences ( Saxony, Germany). There he developed an interest in football and began playing for the school's football team, Mittweidaer Ballspiel-Club, which had been founded in 1896 by students. Adolfo Uribe
Adolfo Miguel Ángel de Uribe Olano (29 September 1882 – after 1907) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Athletic Club. He is best known for scoring Bilbao's only goal in the 1906 Copa del Rey Final. Playing career Mittweida Adolfo Uribe was born in Bilbao on 29 September 1882. Carles Comamala
Carles Comamala López-Del Pan (17 April 1889 – 4 August 1983) was an orthopedic surgeon by profession and a football player for Barcelona between 1903 and 1911. He was a director of Barcelona in 1909–1911. Early life and Career Born in Madrid, the capital of Spain, to a Basque father and a Canarian mother. In 1903, he joined Barcelona, when his friend Joan Gamper, president of FC Barcelona who had founded the club in 1899, retired. Comamala was a great striker who stood out for his side, scoring throughout his long career. He scored a total of 172 goals in 154 games for the club. Romà Forns
Romà Forns Saldaña (died 26 April 1942) was a Spanish footballer and manager. He made his debut as a footballer in late 1902 playing one season for Irish FC but spent the rest of his career with FC Barcelona and the Catalan XI, always as a forward. He later served on the Barcelona board of directors and then coached the club between 1927 and 1929, guiding it to the first ever La Liga championship. He was the first manager from either Spain or Catalonia to take charge of the club. During his playing career, Forns helped Barcelona win the Championat de Catalunya on five occasions and the Copa del Rey once. Among his teammates at the club were Ernest Witty, Francisco Bru, Paulino Alcántara and Jack Greenwell. José Quirante
José Quirante Pineda (10 May 1883 in Alicante, Spain – 30 May 1964 in Barcelona, Spain) was a footballer who played as a midfielder, being one of the first players to play for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. He is also remembered for being one of the first professional players of the still growing sport. Quirante was one of the most important players in the amateur beginnings of FC Barcelona, playing with them for a whole decade between 1901 and 1911. He was an outstanding athlete and cyclist and, after his sports retirement, he had a prolific career and long career as a coach for numerous clubs throughout Spanish geography.
