Vindensång is an American ambient band with strong ties to the post-rock, experimental rock and heavy metal genres. The band formed in 2005 in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Vindensång was originally the solo project of front-man Jeffrey Neblock, but has since incorporated new members. The band seeks to "capture and reproduce atmosphere and emotion" in their music. History Formation and instrumental period (2005–2007) In early 2005, the band was formed as the solo project of Jeffrey Neblock. Soon after the conception of the band, material for the demo release ''Themes of Snow and Sorrow'' was written and recorded. Downingtown, Pennsylvania
Downingtown is a Borough (Pennsylvania), borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States, west of Philadelphia. As of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, it had a population of 7,898. Downingtown was settled by European colonists in 1716 and has a number of historic buildings and structures. History The borough was originally named Milltown due to its number of mills along the East Branch Brandywine Creek, the first of which was founded by Daniel Butter. The Butter family also had paper mills in the area, and Frederick Bicking from Winterburg, Germany, was the patriarch of the Bicking paper families. The Strand Theater is a vaudeville theater located at 400 Clifton Avenue in Lakewood Township, Ocean County, New Jersey. ''Marrow of the Spirit'' is the fourth studio album by American metal band Agalloch, released on November 23, 2010. Production ''Marrow of the Spirit'' marked a change in record labels for Agalloch. Their first three albums and EPs were released by The End Records, but after their contract was completed with the release of ''Ashes Against the Grain'' in 2006, the band opted not to renew it. ''Marrow of the Spirit'' was released by Profound Lore Records, which had also released the first two Agalloch albums on vinyl in 2005. It was the first album to feature Aesop Dekker (of Ludicra) on drums, replacing Chris Greene. The band felt that their previous album, ''Ashes Against the Grain'', sounded too polished, and opted for a more raw sound for ''Marrow of the Spirit'', saying that it felt more "alive and real". Agalloch () is an American extreme metal band from Portland, Oregon. Formed in 1995 by frontman John Haughm, they released five full-length albums, four EPs, two singles, one split single, two demos, four compilation albums and one live video album. They announced their disbandment in May 2016, but reunited in 2023. Heathen Harvest was an Internet blog devoted to music criticism, music news, and interviews.
