Vincent Nilsson is a Swedish jazz trombonist and arranger. Biography Nilsson played in the orchestra on the Miles Davis recording '' Aura'' in 1985. Nilsson recorded ''Jazz Trombone Spirituals'' for Storyville Records in 1998. On the album, he used mutes and multiphonics. Palle Mikkelborg
Palle Mikkelborg (born 6 March 1941) is a Danish jazz trumpet player, composer, arranger and record producer. He is self-taught on the trumpet, although he studied conducting at the Royal Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. He became a professional musician in 1960 and joined the Danish Radiojazzgruppen three years later. Mikkelborg became their leader in 1967 and retained that position until 1972. In addition, he was a member of the Radioens Big Band over a similar time frame. He played trumpet in both, but also wrote, arranged, and conducted both. Forming a jazz quintet with drummer, Alex Riel they performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival (1968). He later led an octet, V8, in the 1970s, and another outfit, Entrance, from the mid-1970s until 1985. His compositions were made for various ensembles, including extended pieces for larger outfits. Flemming "Bamse" Duun Jørgensen (7 February 19471 January 2011) was a Danish pop singer and actor, best known as lead singer of the band Bamses Venner (''Teddy (Bear)'s Friends''). Thaddeus Joseph Jones (March 28, 1923 – August 20, 1986) was an American jazz trumpeter, composer and bandleader who has been called "one of the all-time greatest jazz trumpet soloists". Early life, family and education Thad Jones was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to Henry and Olivia Jones, a musical family of 10 (an older brother was pianist Hank Jones and a younger brother was drummer Elvin Jones). A self-taught musician, Thad began performing professionally at the age of 16. He served in U.S. Army bands during World War II (1943–1946). Dexter Gordon (February 27, 1923 – April 25, 1990) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. He was among the most influential early bebop musicians. Gordon's height was , so he was also known as "Long Tall Dexter" and "Sophisticated Giant". His studio and performance career spanned more than 40 years. Gordon's sound was commonly characterized as being "large" and spacious and he had a tendency to play behind the beat. He inserted musical quotes into his solos, with sources as diverse as "Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday" and well-known melodies from the operas of Richard Wagner, Wagner. Thomas Lee Flanagan (March 16, 1930 – November 16, 2001) was an American jazz pianist and composer. He grew up in Detroit, initially influenced by such pianists as Art Tatum, Teddy Wilson, and Nat King Cole, and then by bebop musicians. Within months of moving to New York in 1956, he had recorded with Miles Davis and on Sonny Rollins' album ''Saxophone Colossus''. Recordings under various leaders, including ''Giant Steps'' of John Coltrane, continued well into 1962, when he became vocalist Ella Fitzgerald's full-time accompanist. He worked with Fitzgerald for three years until 1965, and then in 1968 returned to be her pianist and musical director, this time for a decade. After leaving Fitzgerald in 1978, Flanagan attracted praise for the elegance of his playing, which was principally in trio settings when under his own leadership.
