Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council, also known as Barking and Dagenham Council, is the local authority for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in Greater London, England. It is a London borough council, one of 32 in the United Kingdom capital of London. The 1982 Barking and Dagenham Borough Council election took place on 6 May 1982 to elect members of Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council in London, England. The whole council was up for election and the Labour Party stayed in overall control of the council. Background 124 candidates nominated in total. Labour again ran a full slate and was the only party to do so. By contrast the Conservative Party ran only 34 candidates and the SDP-Liberal Alliance 22.
