Vilhelm Ahlmann
Hans Vilhelm Ahlmann (14 February 1852 – 12 May 1928) was a Swedish and Danish architect. He is credited with designing and restoring a variety of churches in Denmark. Biography Ahlmann was born in Scania, Sweden. He graduated from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1869, and then studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts from 1870 until 1876. He worked as an apprentice with architect Hermann Baagøe Storck during which time he principally conducted restoration work. Among his works are restorations of Kolding Church (1875), Stubbekøbing Church (1881), St. Peter's Church, Næstved (1890) and Holstebro Church (1907). Many of his designs were for buildings in Aarhus, such Aarhus Katedralskole (1894). His original architectural designs included Hulsig Church from 1893 to 1894, Frederikshavn Church (''Frederikshavn Kirke'') in 1892, Sørig Church (''Sørig Kirke'') in 1900, and Holstebro Church (''Holstebro Kirke'') from 1906 to 1907. Julie Laurberg
Julie Rasmine Marie Laurberg (7 September 1856 – 29 June 1925) was an early Danish photographer who, together with Franziska Gad (1873–1921), ran a successful photography business in central Copenhagen. Early life and education Born in Grenå, Laurberg trained under the painter and photographer Leopold Hartmann before continuing her studies in Paris and Italy. Career In 1895, she opened her own studio in the new Magasin du Nord building in central Copenhagen where she worked with her former pupil Franziska Gad. From 1907, when Gad became an official partner in her business, the studio became widely recognized, attracting well-to-do personalities to have their portraits taken. One of her most notable portraits is that of opera singer Margrethe Lendrop which was widely published as a post-card engraving. Frederikshavn Church
Frederikshavn () is a Danish town in Frederikshavn municipality, Region Nordjylland, on the northeast coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Its name translates to "Frederik's harbor". It was originally named Fladstrand. The town has a population of 22,672 (1 January 2022), and is an important traffic portal with its ferry connections to Gothenburg in Sweden. The Nordic exhibition of Industry, Agriculture, and Art of 1888 (''Den Nordiske Industri-, Landbrugs- og Kunstudstilling i Kjøbenhavn 1888'') was an exhibition that aimed to feature the best of art, industry, and agriculture from the five Nordic countries.
