Viktor Zhdanov (actor)
Viktor Petrovych Zhdanov (; born March 3, 1968) is a Ukrainian theater, film and television actor. He is a Merited Artist of Ukraine. Biography Viktor Petrovych Zhdanov was born on March 3, 1968, in the village of Kyselivka in Kherson Oblast. He graduated from the Kherson Vocational College of Culture and Arts in 1986. From 1986 to 1988, he was an actor of the Kherson Puppet Theater. From 1988 to 1997, he was part of the Regional Academic Musical-Dramatic Theatre Mykola Kulish. From 1997 to 1998, he was part of the Maikop Russian Drama Theater in Adygea. In 2000, he joined the Donetsk National Academic Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theatre. He and his family moved to Kyiv after the occupation of Donetsk in 2014. That same year, he began working for the Kyiv Academic Theatre of Drama and Comedy on the left bank of Dnieper. Kyselivka, Kherson Oblast
Kyselivka ( uk, Киселівка, ) is a village (selo) of Ukraine, in Chornobaivka rural hromada, Kherson Raion, Kherson Oblast. History The village was affected by the Holodomor, in which an estimated 24 inhabitants of the village died. Due to resistance to collectivization, criminal cases were opened against many villagers. 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine Following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the village came under Russian occupation. According to the Ukrainian army, on the night of 29 April, 2022, a firefight took place between ethnic Chechen and Buryat soldiers in the Russian army. There were allegedly more than 50 participants on each side. Through the character Lukas, an interpreter who is stranded in the region he was to help monitor for a security organization, the film examines the lives of people on the southern Ukrainian steppe who live in anarchic freedom, seemingly forgotten by the outside world. The film premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) on 1 July 2018 in the East of the West program. It won several awards at international film festivals, including the Grand Prize at festivals in Armenia, Croatia and Morocco. The "Golden Dzyga" ( uk, Золота дзиґа) is a Ukrainian national film award given for professional achievements in the development of Ukrainian cinema. Founded in 2017 by the Ukrainian Film Academy, the first awards ceremony took place on April 20, 2017, at the "Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv."
