Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath
Vijayalakshmi Ravindranath (born 18 October 1953) is an Indian neuroscientist. She is currently a professor at the Centre for Neuroscience, Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. She was the founder director of the National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon (2000-9) and founder chair of the Centre for Neuroscience at Indian Institute of Science. Her main area of interest is the study of brain related disorders including neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. She serves as the founding director of the Centre for Brain Research in Bangalore. Vaikom Vijayalakshmi
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi (born 7 October 1981) is an Indian playback singer from Kerala, India. She is an expert in a rare musical instrument called Gayatriveena. She won special jury mention for her much appreciated work in the 2013 film ''Celluloid''. She was born at Vaikom on 7 October 1981 and later on moved to Chennai. Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi (born 25 March 1979) is an Indian chess player who holds the FIDE titles of International Master (IM) and Woman Grandmaster (WGM), the first female player in her country to achieve these titles. She has won more medals than any other player for India in the Chess Olympiads. She has won almost all national age group titles, including the senior title. Potturi Vijayalakshmi is a Telugu writer well known for her humorous short stories. Vijay Lakshmi Pandit (''née'' Swarup Nehru; 18 August 1900 – 1 December 1990) was an Indian freedom fighter, diplomat and politician. She served as the 8th President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1953 to 1954, the first woman and the only Indian to have been appointed to this post. Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam is a Carnatic music vocalist. She has performed in India and abroad since the age of 12. She has also conducted workshops and lecture demonstrations on various aspects of Carnatic music and presented papers at international conferences. In June 2007, she published " Apoorva Kriti Manjari", a collection of twenty rare compositions of the Trinity of Carnatic Music. The book features notations in English and Tamil by musicologist S.
