Vidi Bilu
Vidi Bilu ( Hebrew: וידי בילו; born 6 January 1959) is an Israeli film director. Biography Vidi Bilu was born in Jerusalem in 1959. She studied between 1983 and 1985 at the photography department of Hadassah College. She began to study cinema in 1986, at the School of Beit Zvi, and specialised in direction in 1989. The director of many publicity films, and at the same time, editor and producer, she has directed many films, such as ''Close to Home'' in 2005. Hebrew
Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. ''Close to Home'' ( he, קרוב לבית, Karov la bayit) is a 2005 Israeli drama film directed by Dalia Hager and Vidi Bilu, and starring Smadar Sayar and Naama Schedar. It is the first film about the experience of female soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces. Smadar (Sayar) and Mirit (Schendar), both 18 years old, are assigned to patrol the streets of Jerusalem together as part of their military service. Worlds apart in their personality, their initial frosty relationship becomes a friendship as they deal with their own emotional issues, the crushes and break-ups in their love lives, as well as the political realities of the city in which they live.
