Victoria Umbro Select was a Canadian soccer team who played in the Premier Development Soccer League as an associate member in the 1998 season. History Victoria Umbro Select had been a member of the Pacific Coast Soccer League. In 1998, they joined the Premier Development Soccer League as an associate member, along with Abbotsford Athletes In Action, Okanagan Valley Challenge and Seattle Hibernian, each of whom played 8 league games, while the full league members played 16. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league features 113 teams for 2022, split into sixteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Ventura County Fusion are the current champions, having defeated Long Island Rough Riders 2–1 in the 2022 USL League Two Championship game on August 6, 2022. 1998 PDSL Season
The 1998 Premier Development Soccer League season was the 4th PDSL season. The season began in April 1998 and ended in August 1998. San Gabriel Valley Highlanders won the championship, defeating the Jackson Chargers 3–2. Jackson won the regular season title, winning all 16 games and posting a whopping +84 goal difference. Four teams from the Pacific Coast Soccer League joined as associate members this season, with two (Abbotsford and Seattle) going on to become full members in 1999. Pacific Coast Soccer League
The Pacific Coast Soccer League is an amateur soccer league, currently featuring teams from British Columbia. In the past clubs from Washington and Oregon have competed. PCSL is considered to be British Columbia's premier summer league. The league winners are not eligible for any higher cup competitions; however, most players play in a winter league, such as the VMSL, VISL or FVSL, where teams do participate in BC Provincial Cup qualification. The league has a short, 2.5-month summer season. The league is considered to be a 4th tier competition next to USL League 2. The PCSL comprises elite football players, including ex-pros from Europe and North America, or NCAA or U Sports players and others looking to become professional footballers, or maintain fitness. Hibernian Saints was an American soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1993, the team was a member of the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL), a recognized fourth-division league in the American Soccer Pyramid which features teams from western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. The Saints last participated in the PCSL in 2006. They were the next best soccer in Seattle besides the Sounders while operating.
