Victor Perli
Victor Perli (born 1 February 1982) is a German politician. Born in Bad Oeynhausen, Lower Saxony, he represents The Left. He has served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Lower Saxony since 2017. Life Perli was born in Bad Oeynhausen as the child of an Italian-Dutch working-class family. The family moved to Wolfenbüttel in 1993, where Perli graduated from the Gymnasium im Schloss in 2001. He then studied political science, sociology and modern history, first at the TU Braunschweig and from 2006 at the University of Potsdam. He completed his studies with the academic degree Magister Artium (M.A.) and subsequently worked as managing director of a family business. He became member of the bundestag after the 2017 German federal election. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet (assembly), Diet") is the lower house of the Germany, German Federalism in Germany, federal parliament. It is the only constitutional body of the federation directly elected by the German people. The Bundestag was established by Title III of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany () in 1949 as one of the legislative bodies of Germany, the other being the German Bundesrat, Bundesrat. It is thus the historical successor to the earlier Reichstag (Weimar Republic), Reichstag. 2017 German Federal Election
The 2017 German federal election was held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the List of members of the 19th Bundestag, members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 Overhang seat, overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CDU/CSU), led by incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, won the highest percentage of the vote with 33%, though it suffered a large swing against it of more than 8%. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) achieved its second worst result since post-war Germany at 21%, undercut only by its 2025 German federal election, 2025 result. Bad Oeynhausen
Bad Oeynhausen () is a spa town on the southern edge of the Wiehengebirge in the district of Minden-Lübbecke in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe, East-Westphalia-Lippe region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The closest larger towns are Bielefeld (39 kilometres southwest) and Hanover (80 km east). History In the village of Bergkirchen, which belongs to Bad Oeynhausen, a wellspring sanctuary existed in pre-Christian (Saxon) times at the local crossing of the Wiehengebirge, which was replaced in the 9th century by a church.
