Vicky Wright
Victoria Drummond (born 15 August 1993), better known as Vicky Wright, is a Scottish former Curling, curler from Stranraer, and 2022 Olympic Champion in women's curling, playing Third (curling), third on Team Eve Muirhead, Muirhead. Career Before playing for Muirhead, Wright curled for Hannah Fleming. She was the alternate for Scotland at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships, where the team won a silver medal. She won the 2018 Scottish Women's Curling Championship as lead for Fleming to qualify for her first World Curling Championships, World Championship. At the 2018 World Women's Curling Championship, the team struggled, finishing the round robin with a 5–7 record. Dumfries
Dumfries ( ; ; from ) is a market town and former royal burgh in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, near the mouth of the River Nith on the Solway Firth, from the Anglo-Scottish border. Sophie Jackson
Sophie Jackson (born 22 July 1996, in Dumfries) is a Scottish curler. She currently plays lead and skips Team Rebecca Morrison. Career Juniors Jackson twice skipped Team Scotland at the World Junior Curling Championships. Her first was in 2016, when she led her team of Naomi Brown, Rachael Halliday and Rachel Hannen to a 2-7 record. This relegated Scotland to the World Junior-B Curling Championships for the following season. In 2017, she once again skipped the Scottish junior team. She and teammates of Brown, Mili Smith and Sophie Sinclair won the Junior B championships, earning the right to represent Scotland at the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships. At the World Juniors, her team continued her winning ways, finishing the round robin tied with Sweden's Isabella Wranå rink for first with a 7-2 record. 2018 European Curling Championships
The 2018 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships were held from November 16 to 24 in Tallinn, Estonia. The C Division competitions were held in April in Copenhagen, Denmark. The top seven men's teams will qualify for the 2019 World Men's Curling Championship. The European Curling Championships are annual curling tournaments held in Europe between various European nations. The European Curling Championships are usually held in early to mid December. 2018 World Women's Curling Championship
The 2018 World Women's Curling Championship (branded as the 2018 Ford World Women's Curling Championship for sponsorship reasons) was held from March 17–25 at the North Bay Memorial Gardens in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. The format of the tournament was changed this year, with 13 teams qualifying for the tournament (as opposed to 12 in previous years), and the top 6 teams from round-robin play will qualify for the playoffs (rather than 4). The playoff system were single-knockout, where the top two teams received a bye while the remaining four played the first round. The event was won by Canada's Jennifer Jones rink from Winnipeg; the second world championship for the 2014 Olympic gold medallists. Off the ice, the event was a success and set an attendance record for a women's world championship held in Canada. World Curling Championships
The World Curling Championships are the annual world championships for curling, organized by the World Curling Federation and contested by national championship teams. There are men's, women's and Doubles curling, mixed doubles championships, as well as men's and women's versions of junior and senior championships. There is also a World Wheelchair Curling Championship, world championship for wheelchair curling. The men's championship started in 1959, while the women's started in 1979. The mixed doubles championship was started in 2008. Hannah Fleming (born 3 October 1991 in Dumfries) is a Scottish curler from Lockerbie. She is a former World junior champion skip. Career Youth Fleming began her junior career by winning a gold medal at the 2009 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, playing third for the Scottish team, skipped by Anna Sloan. Fleming skipped Scotland at two straight World Junior Curling Championships. At the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships, she led her rink of Lauren Gray, Alice Spence and Abi Brown to a 7-2 round robin record. In the playoffs, they knocked off the Czechs (skip: Zuzana Hajkova) twice to claim the gold medal.
