Vichaya Vatanasapt
Vichaya Vatanasapt () is a Thai musician, composer and music producer, best known for film scores produced through his studio Hualampong Riddim. Vichaya graduated in architecture from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and only had informal training in music. Upon graduation, he joined the band La-Ong-Fong, and went on to pursue a career in music instead of architecture. After La-Ong-Fong, he worked with the band T-Bone (Thai band), T-Bone, co-founding Hualampong Riddim in 1999 as an indie label to manage the band as well as his own electro-pop project The Photo Sticker Machine. Soon, Hualampong Riddim began producing music for advertising, and then branched into film music, beginning with the 1999 indie film ''Kon Jorn''. Vichaya went on to compose for Yuthlert Sippapak's 2003 film ''February (2003 film), February'', and co-wrote the score for Pen-ek Ratanaruang's ''Last Life in the Universe'' with Jettamon Malayota. ''The Teacher's Diary'' (; ) is a 2014 Thai romance drama film directed by Nithiwat Tharathorn. It was selected as the Thai entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards, but was not nominated. The film was remade in India as ''Notebook'', released in March 2019. The film is based on a real life teacher of a houseboat school, Ban Ko Allocated School (Ruen Phae Branch), on the Ping River at the Bhumibol Dam in Mae Ping National Park in Li district, Lamphun province. The motif of a left behind diary is based on an incident from the marriage of a producer's friend. The Suphannahong National Film Awards (, also known as the Thailand National Film Association Awards) is the primary film award of the Thai film industry. It is given annually by the National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Associations (MPC), and is named after the trophy statuette designed in the shape of the figurehead of the Royal Barge ''Suphannahong''.
