Vic Wild
Victor Ivan "Vic" Wild (; born August 23, 1986) is an American-born Russian snowboarder. Career Wild won a bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2013, 2013 FIS Snowboarding World Championships and gold medals in the Snowboarding at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Men's parallel slalom, parallel slalom and Snowboarding at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Men's parallel giant slalom, parallel giant slalom at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, which made him the first snowboarder ever to win two medals at the same Winter Games. At the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, he won a bronze medal in parallel giant. Wild originally competed for the United States, but after the 2010 Winter Olympics, the United States Ski and Snowboard Association shut down its alpine snowboarding program. White Salmon, Washington
White Salmon is a city in Klickitat County, Washington, United States. It is located in the Columbia River Gorge. The population was 2,193 at the 2000 census, increased 1.4% to 2,224 at the 2010 census, and increased 11.7% to 2,485 at the 2020 census. History White Salmon was first settled in 1852 by Erastus Joslyn and his wife. White Salmon was officially incorporated on June 3, 1907. White Salmon was part of the home of the Klickitat Tribe, now a part of the Yakama Confederated Nations. The Klickitat Tribe sold some land to the Joslyns. They were generally Native advocates for the time. The area was thrown open on October 31, 1858 for white settlement after the Klickitat and Yakama lost the fight for their homelands in the Yakama War. Alena Igorevna Zavarzina (; born 27 May 1989) is a Russian former snowboarder specializing in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom disciplines. She is the FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2011, 2011 World champion and bronze medalist from the 2014 Winter Olympics in parallel giant slalom. A four-time FIS Snowboard World Cup, World Cup race winner, Zavarzina won the parallel giant slalom crystal globe in 2016–17 FIS Snowboard World Cup, 2016/17 World Cup season and was the runner-up in the parallel overall standings. Apart from her World title in 2011, she earned further one silver and one bronze medal at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships in her career. The Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" () is a state decoration of the Russian Federation. It was instituted on 2 March 1994 by Presidential Decree 442.
